This Healthy Cinnamon Plum Smoothie recipe is dairy-free, banana-free and 100% fruit! It satisfy all your holiday detox needs – get a head start on your weight loss goals this year! The best way to balance your diet if you had a few too many cookies (or slices of pie)!
Mmmmkay. Thanksgiving is over – this means Christmas is coming! Right? Right. Christmas.
And the party season. And all the delicious party food. And all the cute cocktail dresses.
Hold on a moment – cocktail dresses? Oh, oh no. Where to hide all those cookies?
But healthy smoothie to the rescue!
If you’re like me and sometimes need a bit of a healthy break in between all the holiday food (because who can resist it?) this smoothie is perfect for you!
It still gives you all the delicious Christmas-y and festive flavors without all the fat, sugar and calories!
Plus it will leave you feeling super refreshed – just what you need after eating your own body weight in pie.
Not that that’s a bad thing but let me repeat: Party dresses.
Now I know that for most of us healthy food is the last thing on our minds come December.
Trust me, I’m just like that. Once Christmas decorations start popping up everywhere I see it as an all-you-can-eat pass to food heaven.
But when I went to my first post-natal exercise class this week I was shocked.
There were mirrors everywhere. EVERYWHERE!
And when was the last time I really checked myself in a mirror without a baby in front of me? Yeah. A long time ago.
And then our instructor started talking about the importance of a healthy diet and seriously, I felt like I should maybe hold back on the cookies just slightly this year.
Now the greatest thing about smoothies is how quick they are to whip up.
Just throw everything into a blender and you’re basically done.
And this one right here is extra-special: It’s 100% fruit and entirely banana-free!
Because of that it has a nice and light feel to it and gets all thick and creamy from ice blended in.
One final thing: If you don’t have a very powerful blender and dislike larger bits in your smoothies I suggest you peel the plums.
And a final-final thing: If you like some seriously intense cinnamon the smoothie can be refrigerated for a few hours – this lets the flavors really develop and blend together!
Are you ready to get a health kick this holiday season with me? Start your blender and off you go!
