Notes
Ingredient notes
Broccoli: I use fresh florets mostly, but frozen works as well. No need to defrost and the air frying temperature stays the same. It does need to cook a little longer though, keep a close eye on it and check on it regularly. I also recommend air frying for about 3 minutes without seasoning, then seasoning the partially thawed broccoli before finish air frying.
Garlic powder: I highly recommend sticking to garlic powder in this recipe. Freshly minced garlic scorches and burns in the air fryer. If you don’t like garlic, just skip it.
Parmesan: The parmesan is optional, but I love the flavor it adds!
Olive oil: Feel free to use a different vegetable oil suitable for high temperatures.
Recipe tips
Roasting time: Make sure to regularly check on your broccoli after about 6 minutes of cooking time, to catch it at your preferred point of browning/crispness. Do not over-roast the broccoli or it may turn out bitter!
Broccoli amount: You don’t want to over-crowd your air fryer basket. It can be closely packed, but only in a single layer (the broccoli shrinks a little as it cooks). I use a 5.5 quart Corsori air fryer, a smaller air fryer will hold less broccoli florets per batch.
Leftovers: You can store air fried and cooled broccoli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat it for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer before serving.
