This Air Fryer Broccoli is incredibly easy to make and ready in just 15 minutes! It roasts perfectly and turns out so flavorful – a great, healthy side dish.
There is nothing easier than throwing a bunch of broccoli florets into the air fryer – I do often get caught up in making the main dish, only to completely neglect the side.
But the air fryer has been a total game changer for me: Just toss the veggies with a tablespoon of oil and seasoning, then roast them in the appliance until done! Easy peasy.

Ingredient notes
- Broccoli: I use fresh florets mostly, but frozen works as well. No need to defrost and the air frying temperature stays the same. It does need to cook a little longer though, keep a close eye on it and check on it regularly. I also recommend air frying for about 3 minutes without seasoning, then seasoning the partially thawed broccoli before finish air frying.
- Garlic powder: I highly recommend sticking to garlic powder in this recipe. Freshly minced garlic scorches and burns in the air fryer. If you don’t like garlic, just skip it.
- Parmesan: The parmesan is optional, but I love the flavor it adds!
- Olive oil: Feel free to use a different vegetable oil suitable for high temperatures.
How to air fry broccoli
Please note: I always preheat my air fryer on its highest temperature setting for 5 minutes before using it. I find it yields the best results.
1. Season broccoli. Just toss everything in a bowl – easy!
2. Place the seasoned broccoli in the hot air fryer basket. Make sure it’s in a single, even layer for best results.
3. Air fry for about 8 minutes, or until roasted to your liking!
Recipe tips
- Roasting time: Make sure to regularly check on your broccoli after about 6 minutes of cooking time, to catch it at your preferred point of browning/crispness. Do not over-roast the broccoli or it may turn out bitter!
- Broccoli amount: You don’t want to over-crowd your air fryer basket. It can be closely packed, but only in a single layer (the broccoli shrinks a little as it cooks). I use a 5.5 quart Corsori air fryer, a smaller air fryer will hold less broccoli florets per batch.
- Leftovers: You can store air fried and cooled broccoli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat it for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer before serving.

I have had my Corsori air fryer for a while now, and it’s my favorite kitchen appliance – and one of three that earned a fixed spot on the counter!
